Introduction to animal science, economic importance of animals; contribution of livestock and poultry animals to climate change; anatomy and physiology; mechanism of growth; methods of genetic improvement; identification of feed sources and nutrition needed by animals.

This course covers the history of sports, terminologies, rules and regulations, facilities and equipment and officials of the game. It includes competencies in techniques and strategies in playing team sports.

Practical mensuration; proper selection and safe use of hand and power tools; common engineering shop materials and processes, basic machining, welding, and foundry.

Laws governing heat transfer and their applications to insulators and heat exchangers such as condensers, cooling coils and evaporators.

Properties of fluids; fluid statics, kinematics and dynamics; flow in pressure conduits and open channels; fluid measurements and turbo-machinery.

Principles of dynamics; resultant of the force systems; equilibrium forces; analysis of structures, and friction.

Purposive Communication is about writing, speaking and presenting to different audiences and for various purposes. Purposive Communication is a three-unit course that develops students' communicative competence and enhances their cultural and intercultural awareness through multimodal tasks that provide them opportunities for communicating effectively and appropriately to a multicultural audience in a local or global context. It equips students with tools for critical evaluation of a variety of texts and focuses on the power of language and the impact of images to emphasize the importance of conveying messages responsibly. The knowledge, skills, and insights that students gain from this course may be used in their other academic endeavors, their chosen disciplines, and their future careers as they compose and produce relevant oral, written, audio-visual and/or web-based output for various purposes.

This course will provide physical activities to optimize health and fitness. Students will choose from a menu of course offerings in Dance, Sports and Outdoor and Adventure Activities.

As mandated by Republic Act 1425, this course covers the life and works of the country's national hero, Jose Rizal. Among the topics covered are Rizal's biography and his writings, particularly the novels Noll Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, some of his essays, and various correspondences.
